Adopt a Chihuahua

Shadow is whole lot of cute in a small package. She weighs in at only about 7 pounds, but she has a lot of love to give in such a small body! Shadow is a one year old Chihuahua. She did not have the best life previously and is just now learning how great life can be living in a loving home. She is extremely timid when you first meet her and will need her new family to be patient and give her the time to get comfortable and trust them. Once you have won her trust she will love to be next to you, snuggle up to you and try to please you. She doesn’t like to be picked up, but will let you hold her if you sit down and let her come to you first. She is housebroken and can use a doggie door. She does not like her kennel, but will go to sleep in one if placed into it. She would do best in a home without small children, where there is another confident, non-aggressive small dog to show her the ropes. She is very intimidated by larger dogs and does not like loud barking. She has not been around cats, but we are confident she would be fine as long as the cat does not show aggression. She likes to be where her people are. She will go searching for them if they are out of site. She will need some basic training (we are working on sit). She has a hard time playing with other dogs, but she wants to learn.
